[glow=white,2,300]Chapter 1: Just A Bunch Of Ruffians![/glow]

"You little sods!" A farmer cried carrying a pitchfork. His clothes were rather tatty.
The three children on the run just giggled. The eldest was Rei, 13 years and he looked like a cat. He had a girl thingy tail and ears at most, but thats just how it goes in this world. The two youngest, literally the same age were Ryu and Teepo, both 10 years old, as they briskly ran from the old farmer. Ryu had blue hair (odd) and Teepo and purple hair (double odd) and was easily tempered by the littlest of things, was quite stubborn (and easily scared) at times but even so was rather clever. Ryu on the other hand was quite quiet, but always went along with what the other two thought. He did speak at times, but Teepo occasionally butted him down at time. Despite things, they had no parents.

The Farmer still endeavoured to chase them, but it was easy to see that for his age he began to slow down. The three energetic children dashed away into the forest where the farmer suddenly decided to stop giving chase, no longer caring for what they stole but to rest his feet in the armchair at home.

The trio dashed into the forest, not slowing at all, and arrived at a small shack which stood there. They went inside, Ryu last, who carefully closed the door behind him.

"I hope that farmer wasn't mad..." Ryu said aloud.
Teepo took a look in the little sack that they had swiped from the man. "Relax," He answered and shrugged "Its not like we're physically hurting anyone.
"But why did we have to bring daggers with us?" Ryu asked worringly.
"Don't fuss," Rei responded picking out a rather dirty looking apple from the bag "Those are for those slimes if they try and attack us again. The nerve, those petty things would die to kill you. No matter how cute they look with the eyes and all,"
"Besides, they can be pretty handy tools for eating stuff with on the spot," Teepo ate something from the bag, although it wasn't quite clear what it was "Have some!" He held out his hand.
"OK,"

That night they sat around the small wooden table and discussed. "Who should we nick from tomorrow?" Teepo suddenly jumped up.
"Hey, hey!" Rei held out his hands "We don't want to start behaving like master criminals you know, we're just trying to live, that'd be all,"
"You know," Rei continued "You've never changed since the first day I saw you, "You where just standing there in the forest. Kinda familair to you Ryu," Rei grinned.
"Me?"
"Yeah, but you where knocked out of your head. Like you'd banged you head on something pretty hard..."
Rei suddenly began to laugh "So that's probably the fashion these days, abandon your kids in Cedar Woods!"
Ryu and Teepo leered at him like a bad joke. "The thing is, I don't remember anything before that point... my family, where I came from, nothing but my own name,"
"Well, you must have forgotten things if you hit your head!" Rei confirmed.
Teepo looked at Rei worringly "I don't remember anything either!"
"Oh well, we can look forward to tomorrow anyway," Rei confirmed.

That night 3 strange figures gathered on the outskirts of the woods. One had a large pair of wings, but was not distinct in what exactly what they were. "I must search for my Destiny..." The winged one said.

In the morning Rei and Teepo were yet again devising a way to get their share of the morning. "Hey guys," Ryu said rubbing his eyes "What's up?"
Teepo and Rei looked at a large map on the table. "So if we go to Yraall road, we can find a sucker there huh? OK its settles!" Teepo blurted out slamming his fists on the table.
"What...?" Ryu asked.
Teepo walked up to Ryu with a large grin. "We're going to Yraall road today!"
Ryu just shrugged, accepted it as a normal day and looked at the map. Rei was pointing with a stick what was going to happen. "So if Ryu approaches the man or woman, then we can get going on our way," He concluded.
"Why me?" Ryu asked in puzzlement.
Teepo looked over his shoulder " Because you need a little enhancement on those pickpocketing skills, mister,"
The tapping was really annoying, but the young boy had been through much worse than THAT.
"OK," Ryu confirmed.

Suddenly the ground shook, huge footsteps past them. Rei quickly looked at the door. "What the hell is passing us?"
"Must be Godzilla," Teepo joked.
Rei stood over him and shouted "I don't think this is the time to be PLAYING GAMES!"
The thundering footsteps began to fade away before stopping completely. The three waited at least 10 minutes before bravely taking a glance outside. Teepo began to act cowardly and hid behind Rei. As the door opened a foul smell flew past there face. As they adjusted to what they could see before them, they're eyes widened. Just a few metres was a trail of blood. Whatever it was that passed the house must of been carring some kind of kill.

Rei had a sudden curiosity to follow the trail. "What on earth do you think you're doing, Rei! That thing could eat you!" Teepo cried.
"Relax, I'm only going to take a lookie, if you don't want me to die then come!" Rei responded in a relaxed way.
Teepo reluctantly followed Rei accompanied by Ryu and followed the trail. After a while, they saw a large cave, they entered quietly and took a look around. "Don't that beat all," Rei mumbled his motto quietly.
"It's so d**n dark in here I can't see a thing, there could be ghosts in here..." Teepo suddenly turned quiet.
Ryu looked up in content. Rei turned around. "Please tell me thats a ghost," Teepo begged.
As the creature moved out the darkness they could see clearly it was no ghost.
"Its Nue!" Rei cried.
The creature beared its horns at Teepo and charged. "Hey! Don't attack me!"
He quickly step aside of the slow moving creature and it charged into the wall. "Gosh this thing is stupid!" he said as he looked at the monster sitting in a daze.
"Even so, its still trying to kill us!" Rei whipped out two daggers from his pockets to protect the younger ones. He lept up onto the Nue and stabbed it with both of him.
"He's good," Teepo wowed as the guy lept upon the Nue, playing on his head.

Rei stabbed the Nue countless times, in idocy the Nue tried in vain to shake the catman off of his head, however his brain was too small to react quickly and it could be seen it was near death. Rei lept off and Teepo and Ryu had a try to attack the Nue until it lay dying in its cave.
"Thats what happens when you mess with the pro's," Teepo announced and laughed.
Rei blankly looked at the child "What? I did most of the work! I jumped on his head, you literally wet your pants standing there,"
Teepo gave an embaressed look. He changed the topic. "Well why don't we complete our task at hand," He was eger to get back to their original plan of heading to Yraall road, not too far from here. Rei and Ryu agreed and hid behind a few shrubs and tall trees that led to the road.

"Now all we have to do is wait," Teepo said.
They waited and waited for someone to pass by and eventually, the time came.
"OK," Teepo whispered "Go get 'em Ryu,"
Ryu wasn't too pleased on doing so and insecurely attempted to step out into the open.
"Oww geez, a bit more momentum please!" Teepo said pushing Ryu into the open.
Unaware of where Teepo had pushed him from he knocked into the man that they were trying to pickpocket and looked up.
"Mind yourself kid! Its dangerous in these parts," The wimpy sounding, skinny man said "They'res a big creature called the Nue which attacks our town every week,"
"But its dead... I, I mean we killed it," Ryu said fearfully. He did not want to hurt him.
"What, you? You're just a kid!" The wimpy man shouted out.
At that moment Teepo and Rei stepped out.
"Urmmm... let me adjust myself, Kids!" The man corrected.
Rei turned away from the man and looked back. "Follow," He said.
The man complied and the two young children followed as well.

They again visited the cave which harboured the Nue and the man looked with a smile on his face. "My, my, it IS true!" He pranced around "The Legendary beast is dead!"
The man looked at the kids. "Here's a lil' present from me, some pocket money, go get yourselves something nice for you trouble!" The man smiled and danced off.
"What a weirdo," Teepo said aloud "What are we supposed to do with this,"
Rei made a sarcastic cough "Umm... well to buy things?"
The three gave up on there hide and seek game at Yraall road and decided to go to town to buy things instead. Now they had money at least.
"Now Teepo and Ryu," Rei spoke "Don't start bragging about us doing that killing back there, we don't want to get too much attention drawn to us,"
"Ohhh, but!" Teepo whined.

Finally after much arguement, they had reached the town. It was busy and bustling and lots of people where around. The biggest site was the large mansion in the center. "OK," Rei whispered "Don't look at anyone and pretend its a normal day,"
They approached a small stall. An old, crazy, loud looking man looked at them "Hey, kiddies, what'll it be? I feel good today, its on the house, see ya!" He handed over some bags of food without them even asking. "OK," Teepo said aloud, slightly freaked out on the speed of the purchase.
Suddenly a woman approached them "Hey" She said pointing "Is this the boys who killed the Nue, look at them, they're so cute!" She flung her arms around Teepo and he just gave a blunt expression.
Another man spoke out "Hey, they're those kids right? I can't believe it!"
Many people started to surround them. "Well I guess being heroes can have its ups, eh Rei?" Teepo nudged his arm.
The three smiled at all the attention they were getting. "As our gratitude you can everything you want until you can work for your own money," Another man said.
Another man came and shooked all three of their hands hard, almost taking them off of the ground "Hello, hello, I hear you defeated the legendary creature, correct?" The man asked.
"Well, yeah," Ryu finally spoke out.
"Please then, the three of you, come with me," The man said, leading them out of the crowd. All the eyes still looked at them.

They reached a house and the man quickly closed the door behind them. He snooped around outside the window before he spoke. "What's the problem?" Ryu asked in question.
"I'm afraid you still need to help us my friends..." The man trailed off "Have you heard of McNeil? He's the master of this town who collects the taxes. However the unfairness is bold, most of us can barely survive anymore,"
"So how does this involve us?" Rei asked.
"Lemme guess, the classic steal back the mans money trick?" Teepo asked with sarcasm.
The man nodded. "Tonight, I want you to go the McNeil Mansion and take back our money," The man whispered.
"Thats a pretty big call," Teepo rolled on.
"If you do it, I'll give you everything you want in my possession!"
Teepo's eyes widened. "Deal!" Without even consulting the rest of the team.

The three made they're way in the dead of night and crept up to the gateway. A gaurd there looked at them "Hey, bud!" Teepo asked "Can we go through?"
"Look, I don't get paid enough to let cheapskates like you get through,"
Rei pulled money out of his pockets "Here, fifty zenny, now will you let us through?"
The guard quickly took it and opened the gate. "I didn't see nothing,"
They quickly crept into the building and made their way into the mansion. With a small creek they saw the large room where McNeil had made himself aquainted to. Around him was lots of money and girls and he lavished in his money. The three had no choice but to frontally consult him. The girls looked at the approaching three children with knives and ran "We wern't doing anything!"
The McNeil man turned up his face. "Petty brats, how did you pass the guards?"
"No matter," Rei said deeply, growling a little "Hand over what you stole,"
"Where are my guards when I need them? Fine take it you childish brats, just spare me!" The man yelled.
The three children triumphantly gathered up the money and dragged it back to the mans house. As they did so, they didn't hear the Master McNeil curse at them "Don't worry my kiddies, you'll get whats coming to you..." He gleefully spoke, rubbing his hands and laughing evilly.

"My, my!" The man said "Thankyou so much, our town will be pleased!"
The three, tired, made their way back to the shack, where they fell asleep.

Darkness is upon me.... why can't I see anything? Wait. I can hear machines and voices.
"I can't believe we're digging up dead bodies, it creeps me out!"
Dead? Am I dead? No. I can breathe, so it can't be.
"Don't worry Sam, all we're getting is the chysm so we can power your house at night. Now pass me that dynamite!"
What? They're going to blow me up! No! I can't let that happen!

"Let what happen?"
Ryu quickly rose up and looked at him. He smiled "Oh nothing, just a crazy dream, that's all," He grinned.
He lept up out of bed, so what are we doing today?" Ryu asked.
Rei sat at the table "Going to town, we need to pick up our reward that man promised us last night,"
"So shall we go or shall we go?" Teepo asked and rushed out the door in excitement.

They walked down a dirt path in excitement and wondered to the outskirt town bridge. The bridge was quite large and made of solid stone, and it would be fun to take a rest for a while.

"Is these the guys we're looking for?" Asked a strange horse-faced man.
"Of course, who would forget the kids with the colour coded heads?" Said another one.
"OK then Sunder, you better be right about this," Replied the other.
"Hmmm? I hear someone," Rei said.
"Of course you can!" Two horse like men stepped out.
Teepo laughed "What's with the long face, bud?"
The two angry horses took it into offense. One of them clentched his fists together. "We were told to look for some brats like you and wip you till you can't be wipped no more!"
Teepo charged at one of the horses. Sunder grabbed the boy with his huge fists and slammed him into the river. "Teepo!" Rei cried looking over the river.
The strong current dragged the small boy away... until he was out of sight.
"Heh? Wanna end up like the boy?" The other horse called Balio said.
Ryu stepped forward. "No!" Rei shouted out "You're too young for this!"
"You should listen to the putty-kat kiddo, cos you're going do die!" Balio said as he drew his sword and stabbed him. Ryu fell to the ground, almost dead.

"My god what the hell is that?" A man cried out.
"Its alive Micheal, but they're all supposed to be dead... that's what we're digging them up for!"
"Sam, you know what to do! Kill it!"
You won't kill me... I don't deserve to die!
"Run!!! They'res a dragon alive in these parts!"

"Huh?" Ryu said as he glanced up quickly.
A familiar face looked at him. It was the man he had helped steal the McNeil money. "I said I'd repay you, those wounds were critical, I thought you'd never wake up,"
Ryu sat up. "Where are my friends?"
"The other two? I haven't seen 'em I'm afraid. You got attacked?"
"Yeah" Ryu replied.

[glow=white,2,300]Chapter 3: Dragon Desires[/glow]

"Hey, hey! Don't get up so fast, Its been 2 weeks I know but I've seen people die from wounds as bad as yours!" The man shouted in concern.
"I'm fine," Ryu insisted as he rose upwards and left through the door.
The man just scratched his head "That kid, I truely respect, he's a survivor,"

Ryu was speechless and expressionless. He wanted so much to murder the two horses that had attacked his friends. He had no care for himself but was concerned for the ones who had raised him. They were like brothers. "Hey son are you alright?" A man asked. Ryu continued moving "I'm fine," He replied.
His heart was mentally torn. He didn't know what to do. "The only thing, I can do is look for them," Ryu spoke aloud as he entered the forest. He kept his track to the ground, not noticing that he had again passed Sunder who was busy squashing slimy goo's. He turned around and looked at the boy who passed him and his eyes widened if fear. He quickly ran "G-g-ghost!" Sunder cried as he ran to his brother who was sitting on a tree stump. "That kid is a z-z-zombie!" He stammered.
Balio stood up "What, the one we stabbed? Maybe we didn't finish the job properly, we don't wanna lose out on our thousands of zenny from Master McNeil, hmm? Lead the way,"
The two horses found there way to the forest where they crept up quietly behind Ryu, who still had his head down searching.
Balio drew his sword "The trick is..."
He pushed the sword through Ryu's heart behind his back "Is to attack the vital organs which allow him to live. Now lets wait a few seconds and then he should be dead," Balio smiled.
Sunder clapped with glee. Unfortunately, no blood came out.
"What? Did I stab him in the wrong place?" Balio questioned.
"He's still breathing!" Sunder began to panic.
Ryu sat up. He looked at them with a very 'dead' looking expression on his face.
"This can't be! You're supposed to be dead!" Balio cursed.
Then a remarkable feat began. Ryu began to change. What they once saw really was a 'Ryu' (Japanese term for dragon, look it up XD)

"What in blazes is that thing?" Sunder asked.
The Dragon Ryu looked at them with a dark leer: he knew they were the bad guys which sent Rei and Teepo to they're fate.
Balio had a brainspark. "C'mon dragon, come get me!"
As Ryu tried to bite Balio whipped a cage on his head. Sunder clapped. "Well done brother, what's the cage for? Why can't we kill it and get our money from McNeil?"
"Forget that old timer," Balio said thinking deeply "This is a dragon, one of the last maybe! We could go to the big city Wydia and make business there. That's be millions of Zenny,"
Sunders eyes began to glow bright with joy. "Fantastico!"
Balio gave a quick leer at Ryu. "As for you, its good night!"
Like a birdcage, Balio placed a red sheet to keep the dragon out of sight. They didn't want anyone to see one of the LAST dragons in the world be in possession of two buff guys otherwise suspisons would set in from other people.

Several agonising days later Balio and Sunder had finally reached Wyndia and was ready to earn they're big bucks. "I can't wait!" Sunder giggle like a sissy girl.
"You hear that Dragon? We're making money out of you"
There was no response in the cage in ignorance.
A winged guard approached the two. "You may enter the hall now," He confirmed.
Balio and Sunder entered. A young girl dressed in red sat with the king as she watched the action below. "So Dad, what our those strange Horse men doing?" She looked up innocently at the king like she always did.
"If those men are by their word you are about to see something very special Nina," The King went on.
She looked at them with a cute expression. Sunder waved and drooled slightly, admiring her cuteness. Balio hit Sunder quickly with trimendoud power and Sunder knocked himself into the business. "Ladies and Gentlemen, Including the very special highness of Wyndia, I present you, A DRAGON!" Balio cried unveiling the sheet. He sounded like a proffessional with the big 'Ohhhhhh....' that had swept over the crowd. He smiled and absorbed the pleasure.
"Uhhh dude," Sunder whispered "Look in the cage,"
Balio looked. His eyes widened in shock. "What? you're supposed to be a Dragon! Hey Lizard-face! Change back into a dragon now!"
Ryu was obviously his old self again. Nina giggled at the horse who kicked the cage continously. The King stood up. "Gaurds, arrest the two con men and they're 'dragon',"
The Balio, Sunder and Ryu were arrested and were thrown in the jails of the Wydian castle.

After a few hours of silence, they heard footsteps. In the light they could see a young girl and she looked sweetly at Ryu. "Aww... that was mean what those two bad men did to you, here..." Nina almost opened his door until the men started to moan.
"Hey! What about us!" Balio complained as he rattled the cell bars.
Nina huffed "You'll just be mean to this boy again, won't you?"
Balio began to cry. "I promise we won't do anything bad again, promise!" He sniveled.
Nina gracefully opened the cage door of the men and the shook her hands in thanks.
Sunder quickly moved behind Nina and hit her on the head, knocking her down. "Heh, heh, she's rack up a bigger price than some measly dragon," Sunder sneared.
Ryu looked helplessly as Nina was carried off by the two bulchy men. "Man she's light,"
"Of course, she's a Wydian. Supposed to be decendants of birds,"
Ryu tried to ram the metal bars as the men walked away. Shouting wouldn't help, there wasn't a guard in sight. He tried again breaking the bars down. 'Who am I kidding?' He thought helplessly 'I can't do this,'
Suddenly he heard the two horse faced men again and then he remembered what they had done to his friends. "I'm not giving up!" he said as he charged once again at the bars.
In a clatter of metal, the bars had broken from the roof and had crashed down to the floor. A neighbouring prisoner blinked in shock and suddenly had the urge to start shaking the bars on his cells, to see if the would fall. But obviously it was just a wimpy movement with his arms, not a full body tackle.

Ryu rushed to catch up with the two horses and they grinned as they heard the running footsteps. Sunder led down the girl onto the dirt track and tripped Ryu over. "Heh, If I try and kill you, you've just turn into that dragon again," With that Sunder pulled a powerful kick into his face, knocking him out.

I have read Chapter 1 and 2 getting on to 3 bit vishous though.
At the moment I will rate it ten slayerX points: SSSSSSSSSX
